What Is The Hardest Part Of Affiliate Marketing?

You want to do affiliate marketing, but you wonder, “What Is The Hardest Part Of Affiliate Marketing?” If yes, you’ve come to the right place.

I have been doing affiliate marketing for three years now, and I totally understand what beginners look for online. So, in this post, I will show you the three hardest parts of affiliate marketing. Let’s dive deep.

What Is The Hardest Part Of Affiliate Marketing?

Simply put, patience, consistency, and traffic. Those are the hardest parts of affiliate marketing. Without them, it is impossible to make decent money from affiliate marketing. Remember affiliate marketing is not a get-rich-quick scheme or overnight success. If you quip with that mindset, you will definitely feel disappointed after starting an affiliate marketing business. The best way to do it is to create quality content that provides value to your audience and helps them solve their questions. Once they trust you enough, they will try things you promote on your website. 🙂

1. Patience!

Most of my followers quit affiliate marketing in the first 3-6 months after a few setbacks and never come back trying. They were eager to see positive results from what they did but ended up quitting.

Being patient with your affiliate marketing business is critical to your online success. You never know when it brings you opportunities to convert leads into sales.

The best you can do is to start a blog, implement SEO strategies, answer your target audience’s questions, promote your posts on social media & email marketing, etc.

With the correct steps to building an affiliate website, you will make affiliate commissions after people trust you. Try to make a long-term plan instead of dreaming of big chunks of money in the beginning, which will help you overcome all the challenges.

2. Consistency!!

The next key element for your affiliate marketing business is consistency! I know how hard it is to create quality content without seeing any affiliate commissions and how difficult it is to keep your belief alive when everyone tells you to quit!

I’ve been there but didn’t let the thinking beat me.

I made my first commission in the 19th month of running my affiliate website and promoting quality products that I think my readers will get value. I couldn’t see this coming if I quit in the 18th or earlier months.

Affiliate marketing is like playing a long game. Before game over, you won’t know what will happen.

I keep telling myself to be consistent and create more quality content on my affiliate website so that people will get the answers they want.

Simultaneously, if they like my articles, they will try the things I promote on my website. Hence, the opportunities to make affiliate commissions.

3. Drive Traffic!!!

Traffic is the lifeblood of every online business; without traffic, you cannot make a dime online. How to get traffic to your affiliate offers? Well, this is the most challenging part of affiliate marketing.

Here are some ways to drive traffic to your affiliate offers:

  1. Keyword Research: find what people search for online and use them for your article titles
  2. SEO: implement SEO strategies to rank your posts higher on SERP
  3. Social Media Marketing: promote your links on various social media platforms
  4. Email Marketing: promote the links in your emails to your subscribers
  5. Paid Ads: run for immediate traffic to your offers

You can combine some of them for the best outcome, sometimes, you will find the perfect formula for your marketing campaigns.

I am tight on the budget, so I seldom try the paid ad route. I suggest newbies not go on this route since it often costs you hundreds of thousands before making your first affiliate commissions.

Conclusion

Now, I believe you understand the three hardest parts of affiliate marketing and learn how to quip with the correct mindset for your online success. I can’t wait for you to tell me about your affiliate marketing success!!!

  1. Thanks for this nice reminder, Matt! Affiliate marketing is the long-run game! What would you advise folks that are struggling and can’t make their commission in the first year or so? What was your strategy for staying on track?

    • Hi Julius,

Thanks for the comment. I hope it helps you well today. 🙂 I didn’t make any affiliate commissions until the 19th month, but after that point, I started making recurring commissions every month. If I had quit so early, I would have had no chance to see this happening today.

The best way to keep you working hard on your website is to think about your WHYs for doing so. Can making money through affiliate marketing buy you time back so you can spend quality time with your family, loved ones, or yourself? I have this goal and keep working toward it.

      Cheers,
      Matt
