Immunotec is a health and wellness MLM company that sells a wide range of products. Dr. Gustavo Bounous founded Immunotec back in 1996 with the purpose of helping people live better.

It is recognized as one of the 50 best direct selling companies in Canada and the United States in 2015 and 2017. Immunotec currently operates in Canada, the United States, Guatemala, Colombia, Peru, Spain, and Ecuador.

However, is this a good opportunity to join and be your own boss and work anytime & anywhere? Let me share more details right below, so you’ll get enough information to make up your mind.

Inside Immunotec

They have a wide range of health and wellness products, and you can also join the business opportunity to sell Immunotec products and recruit people into the system to make money.

Product Lines

Immunotec products fall into the below categories:

  • Wellness: Immunocal, probiotics, calcium, and other dietary supplements
  • Performance: Immunocal Platinum, multivitamins, joint, etc
  • Self-care: Face cream, toothpaste, protein shake, etc
  • Accessories: Eco shopping bag and shaker bottle

The flagship product is the famous Immunocal, and maybe you’ve heard of it before reading my review. It is a unique, patented, specially formulated natural protein that helps to increase an antioxidant called glutathione in the body and provides a full functioning immune system.

They claim Immunocal has the below benefits:

  • Helps increase muscle strength and performance when combined with regular exercise*
  • Assists in the building of lean muscle when combined with regular training and a healthy, balanced diet*
  • Helps build and repair body tissues and build antibodies*
  • Source of essential amino acids for the maintenance of good health*

Do you notice that there are tiny asterisks at the end of all the above-mentioned benefits? This means *These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease.

You cannot promote them with the same wordings since the FDA does not evaluate them. Otherwise, you might get yourself in trouble.

Do Immunotec Products Work?

I don’t use them myself, so I cannot give you my firsthand experiences. If you decide to join Immunotec, it’s better to try the products yourself, so you will have experiences recommending what Immunotec products people need to solve their health issues.

Here are the positive and negative reviews of Immunocal Platinum that I found on Amazon, and I hope they help you well:

How To Make Money With Immunotec?

Immunotec offers many health and wellness products to help people live better, and you can join them as a consultant to sell the products & make money.

In this scenario, Immunotec saves marketing and advertising cost, and you make money by selling their products. Sound likes a win-win solution, right?

Getting Started

To start with Immunotec, you need to become a consultant. The welcome kit costs $46 with a welcome brochure, compensation plan, planner, and a roadmap to your Immunotec success.

After that, there are five starter packs to choose from, and costs range from $275-$1,165. Here are the options:

  • Health Bbb Pack 1000 PV $275
  • Energy Booster Starter Pack 2000 PV $495
  • Health BBB Pack 2000 PV $495
  • Health Booster BBB Pack 2000 PV $495
  • Starter Pack 5000 PV $1,165

The cost doesn’t stop here! WHAT?

In the compensation plan, to be an active consultant, you need to purchase any Immunotec products, or you are qualified as an Associate Consultant who generated 400 personal sales volume in a given month.

I don’t think many consultants achieve Associate Consultants, so you’ll end up purchasing Immunotec products to keep active. Making all the consultants become the most loyal customers of Immunotec.

The cheapest product is the eco shipping bag, which costs $1.45/pcs, while the most expensive item is Immunocal Platinum 2 pack, $312.5. Now, we can calculate the one-year cost of becoming an Immunotec consultant.

  1. Welcome kit $46
  2. Starter Kit $275-$1,165
  3. Monthly Requirement $1.45*12-$312.5*12=$17.4-$3,750

The best case is that you only spend $338.4, while the worst case is $4,961. Other costs are not included, such as additional training, travel, gas, food, or miscellaneous expense, so the total cost must be higher than my calculation. It seems less than a brick-and-mortar business, but it’s still too much for everyday people.

The Compensation Plan

There are seven ways to make money with Immunotec, and it’s the same as other MLMs, complicated and hard-to-understand. I’ve tried my best to make things simple as below:

  • Customer Retail Profit: Earn commissions between consultant’s discount and retail price, around 30%
  • Customer AutoShip Profit: Earn commissions of your customers’ autoship orders, around 5%
  • Customer Volume Bonus: Earn 5%-20% bonus when you have $1,000+ and 2+ customers
  • Business Builder Bonus: Earn 5%-20% of your personally enrolled consultants’ sales in the same month you recruit them
  • Team Commissions: see chart below
  • Moving Up and Accelerated Bonuses: Earn $200-$10,000 when you get promotions and teach others do the same
  • Sponsor Moving Up and Accelerated Bonuses: Earn $250-$10,000 when your downline consultants get promotions

Having a headache now? Don’t worry. You can find the detailed compensation plan HERE. Or, remember to sell Immunotec products and recruit downlines as many as possible, you will start receiving commissions, bonuses, and incentives.

How Much Do You Need to Sell to Stay Active?

To stay active, you need to purchase any Immunotec products, or you are qualified as an Associate Consultant who generated 400 personal sales volume in a given month.

Ugly Truth About Immunotec

TOP#1 Expensive Products

Like other health & wellness MLM, Immunotec’s products are pretty expensive than those you can find online or in the retail store. It’s the same for every health & wellness MLM company so that they can pay their distributors commissions. I’ve reviewed some MLMs that offer similar products as Immunotec, name a few to prove my point:

I compare the costs between Immunocal Platinum and the other two highest-rated protein drinks on Amazon. It costs $156.25 for 375g for Immunocal Platinum, while the other two cost $36-$40, which is 3-4 times cheaper.

If you don’t know what makes Immunotec products stand out from the crowd, then it won’t be easy to sell its expensive products when people can find affordable ones online.

TOP#2 Low Success Rate

In 2020 income disclosure statement, less than 1% of active consultant makes more than $32,563 per year. The rest 99% of active consultants end up losing money.

Another interesting thing I found is they only count active consultants in this table. What if they calculate all the consultants? The numbers must be much lower. In my opinion, it’s not really a “work from home and quit your job” business opportunity.

TOP#3 Hidden Monthly Cost

If you want to stay active and be eligible for commissions, you need to purchase the products yourself, or you qualify as an Associate Consultant who generates 400 PSV once within one commission period.

This makes you the most loyal customer of Immunotec, and to get yourself out of this situation, you can only recruit more people into the system to become your downlines and teach them to do the same.

What I Liked About Immunotec

TOP#1 The Longevity

It’s often said that more than half of new businesses fail during the first year, 45% during the first five years, and 65% during the first 10 years.

Immunotec started its operation in 1996, and now two decades have passed, they are still in the industry and thriving for the next decade. They are also BBB accredited since 2015, with only 2 complaints in the last three years. All of these show them not a scam but a legitimate MLM company.

TOP#2 Transparency

Some MLMs don’t provide any income disclosure, such as Truvy, ACN, Atomy, so people interested can’t get enough information to know the average annual income every consultant makes.

Immunotec shares its income disclosure statement and compensation plan online, so I commend Immunotec for being transparent.

Can You Make Money Selling Immunotec?

Yes, you can make money with Immunotec, especially extroverts who love to see different people every day and share their passions after getting exceptional results from Immunotec products. I know it’s not for me.

The income disclosure shows that only less than 1% of active consultants make decent money with Immunotec. I don’t know about you. The chances to work from home and be your own boss with Immunotec is just too low to join them.

Is Immunotec A Pyramid Scheme?

Let’s read Wikipedia’s definition of a pyramid scheme. “A pyramid scheme is a business model that recruits members via a promise of payments or services for enrolling others into the scheme, rather than supplying investments or sale of products.”

Immunotec offers health and wellness products that help boost people’s health, so we cannot call it a pyramid scheme.

Is Immunotec A Scam?

No, Immunotec is not a scam either. Normally, a scam or a pyramid scheme cannot survive the first year once people complain and report to the authority.

Immunotec operates for more than two decades now; if they were a scam, they couldn’t survive this long and keep growing for the next decade.

When it comes to making money online, there are plenty of options on the internet, such as freelancing, dropshipping, GPT sites, drop services, or affiliate marketing. Wanna know my top-pick? Read on to find out more!

My Alternative Way to Make Money Online

My alternative way to make money online is through affiliate marketing instead of promoting Immunotec products in person. Try to imagine you sell Immunotec products to your friends, family, or anyone you know. Don’t you feel embarrassed or blushed? They might avoid you ever since.

Doing affiliate marketing will save you from that:

  • It’s free to start your affiliate marketing business.
  • You don’t need to buy physical products and sell them face to face.
  • There is no monthly minimum sales quota in affiliate marketing.
  • You don’t recruit people to become your downlines to build a team.
  • You are not restricted to promote one product. You can promote anything you like!
  • Work on your own schedules & you are your OWN BOSS!

You only need to create a website with quality content. So every time people land on your site to read your products reviews or other articles, they will find insight and value. If they like it, they may purchase the products or services via your links. Here come your earning potentials.

  1. Hi Matt, Just finished reading. I think the products seem OK. I would be tempted to promote myself but not really a fan of MLM. It is a bit too demanding for my liking. I’m sure that it must work for some people but I always think you will end up getting lumbered with stuff.

    • Hi Alex,

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your honest comment on my Immunotec review. I hope it helps you well. 🙂

The nature of MLM business is for the companies to save the marketing and advertising cost on promoting their products. So, they came out with a business plan to provide people with visions of making money by becoming distributors. 99% of people fail to make money in the end. That’s why I don’t recommend MLM to people interested in making extra money to support their financial conditions.

On the other hand, I do suggest people try affiliate marketing. It’s affordable, easy-to-follow, and you don’t need prior experiences needed to start a blog to run an affiliate marketing business. How wonderful that is!

      Cheers,
      Matt
