What Is Cowboy Wealth?

-Summary of Cowboy Wealth-

Product Name: Cowboy Wealth
Founders: Chris and Cathy Sorensen
Product Type: A Gateway Site to Melaleuca(A multi-level marketing business)
Price: $19 + 50 PV per month
Recommend: No

Cowboy Wealth is a gateway site that recruits people to join Melaleuca to become Chris and Cathy‘s downlines. In that case, they can make commissions by the products all the downlines purchase or sell.

This product is designed to get as many downlines as possible, so Chris & Cathy can make lots of money.

Their website and video don’t say much about what they are doing, how you will make money, or what products or services you will promote.

It lacked transparency and honesty at first, so it made me skeptical. Let me share more details so you will have more information to make a better decision.

Inside Cowboy Wealth

The website or the YouTube channel doesn’t tell anything about making money from home.

It only says that you can earn $500-$2,500 per month part-time and earn $2,500-$10,000 per month full-time, which is vague.

After checking all the information in public domains, Cowboy Wealth is nothing but a gateway site to sign you up for an MLM company called Melaleuca.

What Is Melaleuca?

Melaleuca is an MLM business with many wellness products to help people improve their lives and health. Frank VanderSloot built Melaleuca in 1985, and it sells environmentally friendly nutrition supplements, cleaning supplies, and personal-care products.

How To Make Money With Melaleuca?

Any MLM business allows you to have two ways to make money. The first one is to sell products at retail price, but you get them at wholesale price. The price gap is your earnings.

The second way is through recruitment. The more downlines you have, the more potential you can earn commissions from their purchases and sales.

Melaleuca Compensation Plan

The compensation plan is quite complicated, so I found a YouTube video that explains it well, or you can read the online brochure HERE.

Who Is Cowboy Wealth For?

Only Chris and Cathy can get the most from Cowboy Wealth! If you join Melaleuca and become their downlines, they can make commissions for any purchases and any sales you make in the future.

If you like to join any MLM business, you can join them directly instead of joining through a gateway site like Cowboy Wealth. Other famous MLM businesses that I reviewed here:

Ugly Truth About Cowboy Wealth

TOP#1 Lack of Transparency and Honesty

If you like to recruit people to become your downlines through your site, you can be honest and transparent upfront.

For example, to make it clear that you are recruiting people to grow a sustainable MLM business online with your winning tips and strategies. I am sure there must be interested people who like to give it a shot!

TOP#2 A Gateway Site

Cowboy Wealth is nothing but a gateway site to sign you up with Melaleuca, but you know you can join Melaleuca directly. There is no product, service, or memberships inside Cowboy Wealth, which makes it quite disappointing.

To make it more helpful and educational, Chris and Cathy could have put lots of their over-the-shoulder experiences or step-by-step training to teach people how to succeed in this MLM business. It’s sad to know that they do nothing here.

TOP#3 Cost Rises When You Go Deeper

Besides the initial $19 to join Melaleuca, you must meet 50 PV monthly to stay active and be eligible for commissions.

If you cannot sell any Melaleuca products to others but want to stay active, you can purchase the products by yourself.

To become a Melaleuca’s distributor, The best you pay is $1,318, while the worst is $1,518.

The breakdown of the cost joining Melaleuca for one year:

  • $19 sign-up fee
  • $99-$299 starter pack
  • 35 product points each month: $100*12=$1,200

Other costs, such as additional training, travel, gas, food, or miscellaneous expenses, are not included, so the total cost must be higher than my calculation here.

TOP#4 Low Success Rate

According to this article, 99% of recruited sellers lose money in an MLM business, and 95% of MLM participants quit within ten years, meaning only 1% of members make profits.

If you like to pursue an MLM business, try to take it as a side hustle and a long game.

It takes a lot to achieve your goals, and it’s never like what they said in the 10-second-long video. Earn $500-$2,500 per month part-time, and earn $2,500-$10,000 per month full-time. This is NOT TRUE!

What I Liked About Cowboy Wealth

TOP#1 Melaleuca Is Legit!

Melaleuca has run the business for more than 37 years as of this writing. If it’s not legitimate, how can a company last 37 years?

I know the success rate is low, but 1% of people sitting on the highest levels do make money by promoting Melaleuca’s wellness and health products. You may succeed with Melaleuca if you turn yourself into a full-time sales manager and a recruiting machine.

Is Cowboy Wealth A Scam?

No, Cowboy Wealth is not a scam, but it’s not a good product too.

If you like the idea of any MLM business, you can join them directly instead of through a gateway site like Cowboy Wealth. I won’t recommend it to people interested in making money online.

Unlike creating a gateway site to lure people to join an MLM business, I prefer to start a blog running an affiliate marketing business with quality reviews.

By structuring my articles with good SEO & keyword research, I can rank them higher on search engines so that people can land on my site ahead of others.

If they like my sharing and find value, they may purchase the product through my links. Here come my earning potentials.

  1. Matt,

I don’t like the sounds of this Cowboy Wealth. Why, as you said, go through the trouble of creating a new website that’s just a gateway into their MLM? I don’t understand the thought process they were thinking with that.

I have to admit, I’ve never been a fan of any MLM. I’ve had every kind come to me to sell with them/for them, however, you want to look at it. And, it’s only because they know I can sell things. The problem with all MLM’s is unless you get a bunch of people to join under you, you don’t make any money. Not only that, it’s always a pressure to get people you know to join under you. Family, friends. I hate peer pressure, and in my younger days of trying several MLM’s, that’s exactly what they are. Simply peer pressure.

Thanks for sharing this! I know to stay far away!

    • Hi Katrina,

Yes, the making of Cowboy Wealth is quite confusing and mysterious. I just don’t know the reason they can’t mention the whole scheme upfront. If you are hiding something, then it would be very tough to sell your stuff.

It’s good to hear from you about your experiences with MLM’s, and it’s indeed the peer pressure. I am sure most people hate it because of that. Making money by affiliate marketing is the opposite. It’s affordable, no selling or recruiting face-to-face required, and no prior experiences needed before starting. Check this platform if you are interested. You will have so much fun building your online business. 🙂

      Cheers,
      Matt
