What Is Juice Plus+?

-Summary of Juice Plus+-

Product Name: Juice Plus+
Founders: founded by Jay Martin in 1993
Product Type: Health & Wellness MLM
Price: $52 signup fee
Recommend: No

Juice Plus+ is a health & wellness MLM company that provides you with high-quality plant-based nutrition and a community of individuals who want to inspire healthy living. It also comes with a business plan so that every distributor can make money.

Jay Martin founded Juice Plus+ in 1993, a product line of dietary supplements from the mother company – National Safety Associates (NSA).

The Juice Plus+ Company has grown from a small, direct-sales company into a highly successful, privately-held health and wellness company operating in more than 20 countries.

However, is it a “be your own boss” business opportunity to quit your 9-5 jobs? That’s what I am going to talk about in this review. Let me show you more details, so you can judge yourself.

Is Juice Plus+ A Scam? - Juice Plus+ Products

What’s Inside Juice Plus+?

Many dietary supplements! Some of you might have already tried the products, so I won’t spend much time listing every item Juice Plus+ offers. I would only mention some products I have been interested in or want to try alone.

Product Lines

  • Capsules: Fruit, vegetable, berry, and omega blend capsules
  • Chewable: 20 different fruits, vegetables, and grains in a tasty, soft chewable form.
  • Complete: Nutrition Bar, a whole-food-based beverage mix with different flavors.

For details about Juice Plus+ products, feel free to check HERE.

Do Juice Plus+ Products Work?

I don’t use Juice Plus+ products, so I cannot give you my firsthand experience.

Before joining Juice Plus+, I suggest you try the products yourself to know the quality. Then, you will be more confident about the products you will promote.

I found what others have to say about Juice Plus products, both positive and negative.

-The Positive-

-The Negative-

Both are equally important to know the quality of Juice Plus+ products, and you might face the same issues as those unhappy customers.

How To Make Money With Juice Plus+?

There are two ways to make money in the MLM industry, and Juice Plus+ is no exception.

  1. Sell Juice Plus+ products to earn your retail commissions
  2. Recruit people under you and make group sales to earn extra bonuses

You don’t make commissions by recruiting, which is the difference between calling it a legit MLM business and a pyramid scheme.

Getting Started

First, you must sign up with Juice Plus+, which costs $52 a year. You will receive a starter kit with everything about the products, the business plan, and the company.

They will also offer you websites to promote the products. It’s free for the first two months, and you pay $5 per month from the third.

💡Pro Tip: How I Start A Blog?

One good thing to know about Juice Plus is that they have no purchase requirements, meaning you won’t have stockpiling issues.

We could roughly calculate the total cost of joining Juicy Plus:

  • $52 sign-up fee
  • $5 website fee from the 3rd month. $5*10 months=$50

The total cost is $102. However, if you like to make money with Juice Plus, you will have to purchase promotional items for the demonstration during your online or home parties.

Other costs, such as additional training, travel, gas, food, or miscellaneous expenses, are not included, so the total cost must be higher than my calculation here.

Juice Plus+ Compensation Plan

MLM companies like to create fancy terms and acronyms to make people see loads of ways to make money, making people sleepy.

Don’t worry today. I’ve made things easier for you. Here are the basics you need to know!

Retail Sales Profit: You sell Juice Plus+ products at retail prices but buy them wholesale. The differential gap is your earnings.

Commissions: There are three different commission levels, 6%, 14%, and 22%. You can earn this commission by purchase value credit(points for each product). When you reach the Direct Distributor level, you earn 6% of the sales made by your downline distributors. If you are a Virtual Franchisee, you earn 14%. If you are Sales Coordinators or above, you get 22%.

  1. If you qualify for Direct Distributor in 30 days, you can get a $100 cash bonus.

Ugly Truth About Juice Plus+

TOP#1 Juice Plus+ 2020 Income Disclosure

Before you join Juice Plus+, you should read Juice Plus 2020 income disclosure because it tells us a lot of interesting numbers.

  • 43% of distributors made $132 in 2020
  • 23% of distributors made $300 in 2020
  • 20% of distributors made $888 in 2020
  • 11% of distribuotrs made $3,444 in 2020
  • only 0.3% of distributors made $74,172+ in 2020

If you calculate the expenses every distributor needs to spend on their business, it’s easy to see that most distributors end up losing money.

I don’t know about you, but this is the cruel truth you need to know before starting, right?

TOP#2 Saturated and Competitive Market

The health and wellness market is saturated and competitive. When it comes to this category, I am sure you must have your preferred brands that flash in your mind. So, it gets difficult to convince people to purchase Juice Plus products from you.

Here is the list of similar MLMs that sell health & wellness products, not to mention those drugstore brands.

TOP#3 Recruit, Recruit, Recruit…

If you read the compensation plan closely, it’s easy to find that you get the most commissions through team building.

I don’t blame Juice Plus+ on this because it’s the nature of any MLMs, and that’s why people said the MLM industry works like a pyramid scheme.

What I Liked About Juice Plus+

TOP#1 Easy Understanding

You don’t need to memorize many unique ingredients of the products, such as Neora or Jeunesse, and almost everyone understands what Juice Plus+ is selling.

It makes things easier when there is no explanation for your customers, but people get many chances to buy similar products online or in their preferred stores instead of you.

TOP#2 Long History

There are 5 out of 10 new companies cannot last longer than five years. When Juice Plus+ has run business operations for more than 29 years, it shows that it did something right for the business.

If you look at the company’s history – National Safety Associates (NSA), you would find that they have run the business for more than five decades. It’s safer to join an MLM like Juice Plus+ because they won’t disappear suddenly.

Who Is Juice Plus+ For?

People who love and enjoy Juice Plus+ products and can’t wait to share with anyone!

I don’t see any harm in building a business with Juice Plus+ if you also have good presentation, planning, and recruitment skills.

But, it’s not for me. I will share my alternative to making money online in one minute.

Can You Make Money Selling Juice Plus+?

Yes, of course! 0.3% of distributors earned more than $74,172 in 2020, while most failed.

You must ask yourself whether you can put up with the pain that you only make less than a minimum wage by selling Juice Plus+. It’s far from covering your bills or supporting your daily expenses, let alone make profits.

Is Juice Plus+ A Pyramid Scheme?

No! Wikipedia’s definition of a pyramid scheme is:

“A pyramid scheme is a business model that recruits members via a promise of payments or services for enrolling others into the scheme, rather than supplying investments or sale of products.”

Juice Plus+ provides many products for distributors to promote, and they get commissions from their sales, so it is NOT a pyramid scheme.

Is Juice Plus+ A Scam?

Definitely NO! Based on what I have shared with you, Juice Plus+ is not a scam.

Juice Plus+ provides legitimate products for distributors to promote and make commissions. A few people(0.3%) did generate a decent income through its multi-level marketing system.

I hope my review gathers everything you need to know before signing up with Juice Plus.

If you have a “Nah!” in your mind when you go through this article, you might be interested in my alternative to making money online!

My Alternative Way to Make Money Online

My alternative way to make money online is through affiliate marketing instead of promoting Juice Plus+ products in person.

Imagine you sell Juice Plus+ to your friends, family, or anyone you know. Don’t you feel embarrassed or blushed? They might avoid you ever since.

Doing affiliate marketing will save you from that:

  • It’s free to start your affiliate marketing business.
  • You don’t need to buy physical products and sell them face to face.
  • There is no monthly minimum sales quota in affiliate marketing.
  • You don’t recruit people to become your downlines to build a team.
  • You are not restricted to promoting one product. You can promote anything you like!
  • Work on your schedules & you are your OWN BOSS!

You only need to start a blog running an affiliate marketing business with quality content.

So every time people land on your site to read your product reviews or other articles, they will find insight and value.

If they like it, they may purchase the products or services via your links. Here comes your earning potential.

  1. Hi Matt,
I am not a big fan of MLMs in general. I was quite surprised to read that you don’t make any commission from recruiting.

The 2020 income Disclosure is scary and certainly an eye-opener into the sustained viability of Juice Plus. At best, the outfit can be a side business. I totally agree with you that affiliate marketing is far better, although it is not a “get rich quick ” scheme for those in a hurry. The Wealthy Affiliate program is a good one to get started,

    • Hi Ceci,

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comment. I hope this review helps you well. The Juice Plus+ income disclosure told us a cruel truth: most distributors fail to make money with the compensation plan, while 0.3% made a decent income. That’s why I don’t recommend people to try MLM business opportunities.

I am glad that we are on the same page about affiliate marketing, and Wealthy Affiliate is indeed the best place to start. Thanks for backing me up here.

  2. Hi Matt,

I feel dubious about the nutrition claims and am glad you exposed the inconsistencies of such a powerfully healthy product yet doing so poorly among consumers who care about their health. Anyone who shops for their own produce knows how iffy it is to find, even in the produce section of the supermarket, goods that really contribute in a large way to health. First, the fruits are barely ripened and hardly produce juice. And because they are generally picked green (to survive transportation and shelf life) the nutrients haven’t yet developed or maximized. As well artificial ripening damages the produce. Are we then to trust that a company is looking out for these as much as the individual going beyond the ‘pretty’ labels to shop around or research the integrity of the product sources? No one believes that.

I agree that we are way better off helping people get their websites built to start their own affiliate marketing. That’s the equivalent of providing someone a vehicle to go where ever they want to go. Instead of being stuck with products not worthy of their claims.

I like how you are upfront about success taking some time and effort. Am I able to try out the affiliate marketing first to get an idea of what that really means?

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comment. I hope my review helps you well. 🙂 I know you have so many concerns about joining a company like an MLM company like Juice Plus+, and that’s why I wrote this review to help people make up their minds. I agree that affiliate marketing is a better approach to making money online to support your living expenses or raise your kids.

I’ve written articles like starting a blog, finding your niche, and affiliate marketing for beginners. I hope these also help you well.

  3. Thanks for your review, Matt. I’m glad to hear that Juice Plus company is legit. Their products seem to be working for their customers, which is always a good sign. However, I’m not a big fan of the MLM system of recruiting people into these schemes. Yes, you can make some money, but it takes a real passion and a lot of time and effort to reach the level of earnings that could support you full-time. Their income disclosure speaks for itself. I believe there are better ways of making money through affiliate marketing, which is actually your top recommendation. Thanks for sharing this post and keep up the good work!

    • Hi Ivan,

Yes, you are correct on MLM. It does take lots of time and effort to make money with the compensation plan. If people are good at presenting and recruiting, there is no harm in doing it. If not, I suggest people try affiliate marketing to make money online.

  4. Hi Matt. Thanks for this Juice Plus+ review. I like your suggestion, to first try the product and then eventually decide if it is the right product to recommend to others. (As there is nothing worse than promoting low-quality products just in return for profit).

After a closer look and seeing your negative points as a big competition, low numbers of successful business owners, I think I made up my mind and will not join the program. Thanks a lot for this useful information. Cheers

    • Hi Julius,

Yes, the success rate of MLM is lower than our imagination. I don’t mean you cannot make money with it, but we should know the numbers before joining them. Taking Juice Plus+ as an example, only 0.3% of distributors made decent money in 2020, while the rest didn’t. I feel like this is not my cup of tea, so I share all the information with my readers.

If people like to make extra money to cover the bills or support the family, my top pick is affiliate marketing. Although running an affiliate marketing business takes time and effort to see positive results, it is worth everything you’ve put into your website in the long run. I’ve leveraged Wealthy Affiliate to generate a stable online income, so I knew it works. Check my full WA review HERE if you are interested. 🙂

  5. The Juice + products are ridiculously expensive. I agree with you that you can buy healthy supplements at Walmart or any other store at a much lower price and still obtain good quality.
Are MLMs still successful today or are more people turning to affiliate marketing?
I would not like to bother friends and family to sell overpriced products, and judging by the negative comments, I would not be able to guarantee their quality … So, that’s a little risky. It doesn’t pay much either, just some extra cash.
What would you recommend someone who is starting out with your alternative way of making money?

    • Hi Christine,

I love to see you back for checking my latest article, which gives me the motivation to keep creating content with my findings. 🙂 I believe there are more and more people turn to Affiliate Marketing today considering the lockdown situation caused by Coronavirus.

For the products that would affect people’s overall health, I would definitely avoid it. So, Juice Plus+ is not ideal for me just like your honest feedback.

For those who like to try my alternative to make money online, I would request them to think twice before joining Wealthy Affiliate since it’s not a make-money-quick program. Instead, it takes lots of time, effort, and patience to achieve your goal with a long term success.

-Ask yourself why you want to try my alternative to make money online? What is the reason you need to make more money?
-Can you put up with the pain that it might take a few years to achieve your goal?
-Can you commit yourself and stick to your plan to make things done day by day?

If all is done, you could start pursuing a lifestyle with a laptop in the near future.

  6. Hi, Matt,

Thank you for pointing out all the pros and cons of Juice+ company.

Out of the two ways in which one can make money with multi-level marketing, none of them is looking attractive to me.

Selling the products in person is not the best way since we are living in a world of product abundance and when somebody needs something, it could be easily found in stores or online.

And even if you try your best, this method will certainly not make you “have your own business”, as most of the MLM companies admit themselves that the real potential is in signing up other people in your downline, to further sell products and recruit other people.

I like that you are offering a better alternative here. But I have heard that affiliate marketing is also a slow thing to take off.

Could you please share what keeps you motivated to move forward?

    I appreciate your feedback.

    Best Wishes,
    Natalie

    • Hi Natalie,

Yes, it’s easy to find out that MLM just wants you to become their customers instead of business partners, so it probably explains why only a few people succeed in the long run with MLM. For affiliate marketing, there are so many great & positive things I would like to share with you, and you may check my article HERE.

You don’t need to invest lots of money at first or in the long run, what you need to do is to find a legitimate platform and a good mentor/helper/coach. You can do it anywhere and anytime, not limited physically. You can promote any products you love based on your preferences.

Hope the above solve some of your questions.
