What is Juice Plus+?

-Summary of Juice Plus+-

Product Name: Juice Plus+
Founders: founded by Jay Martin in 1993
Product Type: Health & Wellness MLM
Price: $50 to join + $70*4 for 4-month subscription
Rating: 40 / 100
Recommend: No

Juice Plus+ was founded by Jay Martin in 1993, and it is a product line of dietary supplements from the mother company – National Safety Associates (NSA). Before Jay introduced Juice Plus+, he sold water filtration products and air filters by using multi-level marketing since 1970.

After the launch of Juice Plus+, it soon became the most successful new product of NSA because most distributors cannot sell any of the water filters that cost $7,000. According to NSA vice-president John Blair, sales of Juice Plus in 2008 were “approaching 300 million, but have decreased due to economic factors.”

I never use Juice Plus+ products, so I cannot give you my firsthand experience. Before you join Juice Plus+, I suggest you to try the products by yourself to know how good it is. Then, you will get more confident about the products you are going to sell, right?

Let’s look what I have found on the internet:

What if your customers told you they want a refund when they feel not well about the products? You can think about the process and make your plan right now to handle this situation.

I am the kind of person who likes to think thoroughly first(sometimes overthink), then decide to join any MLM to make extra money. What I focus on an MLM usually falls on the negative parts, and it does a great job to filter out bad MLMs in the beginning.

How Does Juice Plus+ Work?

In MLM industry, there are mainly two ways to make money online. Juice Plus+ is no exception.

  1. Sell Juice Plus+ products to earn your retail commissions
  2. Recruit people under you and make group sales to earn the override commissions & extra bonuses

Before we go directly to the compensation plan, let’s know how to get started with Juice Plus+.

Getting Started

First of all, you need to sign up with Juice Plus+ that costs $50(one-time), then choose the products you would like to sell. There is no minimum requirement for the products you purchase to sell at least initially. But, higher the rank, there are.

The Compensation Plan

There are three ways to earn your income with Juice Plus+:

Retail Sales Profit: You sell Juice Plus+ products with retail prices, but you buy them with wholesale prices. The differential gap is your earning.

Commissions: There are three different commission levels, 6%, 14%, and 22%. You can earn this commission by purchase value credit(points of each product). When you reach Direct Distributor level, you earn 6% of the sales made by distributors referred by you. If you are a Virtual Franchisee, you earn 14%. If you are Sales Coordinators or above, you get 22%.

Team Building Bonuses:

  1. If you qualify for Direct Distributor in 30 days, you can get a $100 cash bonus.
  2. If you qualify for Virtual Franchisee in 60 days, you can get an extra 5% performance bonus on your entire team, a $300 cash bonus, and one FREE ticket to the next Juice Plus+ LIVE conference.
  3. If you qualify for Sales Coordinator in 6 months or fewer, you can get an extra 5% performance bonus on your entire team, 4% promote out bonus, a $600 cash bonus, and THREE FREE tickets to the next Juice Plus+ LIVE conference.

Ugly Truth About Juice Plus+

TOP#1 Low income Potential

I don’t find the income disclosure for the USA, but I do find Australia/New Zealand’s income disclosure in 2018. I believe the real number in the USA won’t be far from the data in the below screenshot, and we could look closer to evaluate whether you could get a decent income by selling Juice Plus+.

There are 71% of all distributors that only made a $222-$320 annual income in 2018! Will you quit your job by only earning this little? This does not minus off your expenses when you purchase Juice Plus+ products for demonstrations. If we count on the expenses, the actual earning will be way lower.

TOP#2 Very Expensive

Can you imagine one box of capsules that costs $25? Will you pay 3 different boxes of capsules for a 4-month autoship that cost you $300 in total? I will not purchase, how about you?

My reason is simple. It’s very easy to find other similar products on Amazon or Walmart with the same health benefits but at a lower & competitive price. I am also sure you won’t even notice the difference between those products since it’s very subjective.

This makes all distributors more difficult to make sales with customers. It’s just too expensive!.

TOP#3 Recruit, Recruit, Recruit…

If you read the compensation plan carefully, it’s not hard to find out that you would get the most commissions and bonuses by team building.

I don’t blame Juice Plus+ on this because it’s the nature of any MLMs, and that’s why people said that the MLM industry looks like a pyramid scheme. That might not be 100% true, but it’s close.

What I Liked About Juice Plus+

TOP#1 Easy Understanding

You don’t need to memorize many special ingredients inside the products you are going to promote like Neora or Jeunesse, and almost everyone understands what Juice Plus+ is selling.

It makes things easier when there is no explanation needed for your customers, but people get many chances to search for other similar products online or their preferred stores instead of you.

TOP#2 Long History

There are 5 out of 10 new companies that cannot last longer than 5 years. When Juice Plus+ runs business operations for 27 years so far, it shows that they must do something right for their business.

If you look at the history of the company behind Juice Plus+ – National Safety Associates (NSA), you would find that they run business more than 50 years. It’s safer to say there will be more confidence to join an MLM like Juice Plus+.

TOP#3 Juice Plus Children’s Research Foundation

I am glad that Juice Plus+ is giving back to the society when they founded Juice Plus Children’s Research Foundation in 1997, which aims to support programs that improved nutrition leads to a healthier lifestyle and overall better health in children.

They also partner with four organizations, which share the goal of inspiring healthy living around the world.

It’s great to see that Juice Plus+ is doing something rather than nothing.

Who’s Juice Plus+ For?

People who love and enjoy Juice Plus+ so much that you want to share with anyone around you because they deserve your premium service and become your downlines.

If you also have good presentation, planning, and recruitment skills, I don’t see any harm to pursue a financial goal with Juice Plus+.

Can You Make Money Selling Juice Plus+?

Yes, of course. Scroll/slide up for the income disclosure I just showed you. There are 0.3% of all distributors earned more than $100,000 in 2018 while the majority failed.

You need to ask yourself whether you can put up with the pain that you only make less than a minimum wage by selling Juice Plus+. It’s far from covering your bills or supporting your daily expenses.

If it’s a side project for you, I think it’s alright. But, if you take it seriously, you might feel stressful and quit as soon as you don’t see the positive results in one or two years.

Is Juice Plus+ A Scam?

No, definitely no!

Based on what I have shared with you, we can get a conclusion that Juice Plus+ is not a scam at all. Juice Plus+ provides legitimate products for all distributors to make sales for various commissions, and there is indeed someone who generated a decent income through its multi-level marketing system.

I do hope you can think twice and be responsible for your decision, and if you have a “Nah!” in your mind when you go through the ugly truth about Juice Plus+, you might be interested in my alternative to make money online:

My Alternative Way to Make Money Online

My alternative way to make money online is through Affiliate Marketing instead of promoting Juice Plus+ products in person. Try to imagine you sell Juice Plus+ products to your friends, family, or anyone you know to try the capsules or chewables at your places. Don’t you feel blushed? My face turned red when I only imagine the scene, so it’s definitely not my thing.

Doing affiliate marketing will save me and you from that:

  • You don’t even need to buy any physical or digital products and sell to someone face to face.
  • You also don’t need to convince people to join you as you downlines to make group sales.
  • You are not restricted to only promote Juice Plus+ products. You can promote anything you like!

What you need to do is to create a website, YouTube channel, or Facebook/Instagram with quality content that makes your target audience trust you then purchase through your affiliate links. If they do purchase, you earn commissions. Simple as that!

The platform I am using is Wealthy Affiliate. The reasons for “Why Wealthy Affiliate?” are for all the WA training courses, LIVE training sessions every Friday night, 24/7 SiteSupport, and the world-famous/awards winning WA community!

  1. Hi, Matt,

Thank you for pointing out all the pros and cons of Juice+ company.

Out of the two ways in which one can make money with multi-level marketing, none of them is looking attractive to me.

Selling the products in person is not the best way since we are living in a world of product abundance and when somebody needs something, it could be easily found in stores or online.

And even if you try your best, this method will certainly not make you “have your own business”, as most of the MLM companies admit themselves that the real potential is in signing up other people in your downline, to further sell products and recruit other people.

I like that you are offering a better alternative here. But I have heard that affiliate marketing is also a slow thing to take off.

Could you please share what keeps you motivated to move forward?

    I appreciate your feedback.

    Best Wishes,
    Natalie

    • Hi Natalie,

Yes, it’s easy to find out that MLM just wants you to become their customers instead of business partners, so it probably explains why only a few people succeed in the long run with MLM. For affiliate marketing, there are so many great & positive things I would like to share with you, and you may check my article HERE.

You don’t need to invest lots of money at first or in the long run, what you need to do is to find a legitimate platform and a good mentor/helper/coach. You can do it anywhere and anytime, not limited physically. You can promote any products you love based on your preferences.

Hope the above solve some of your questions.

  2. The Juice + products are ridiculously expensive. I agree with you that you can buy healthy supplements at Walmart or any other store at a much lower price and still obtain good quality.
Are MLMs still successful today or are more people turning to affiliate marketing?
I would not like to bother friends and family to sell overpriced products, and judging by the negative comments, I would not be able to guarantee their quality … So, that’s a little risky. It doesn’t pay much either, just some extra cash.
What would you recommend someone who is starting out with your alternative way of making money?

    • Hi Christine,

I love to see you back for checking my latest article, which gives me the motivation to keep creating content with my findings. 🙂 I believe there are more and more people turn to Affiliate Marketing today considering the lockdown situation caused by Coronavirus.

For the products that would affect people’s overall health, I would definitely avoid it. So, Juice Plus+ is not ideal for me just like your honest feedback.

For those who like to try my alternative to make money online, I would request them to think twice before joining Wealthy Affiliate since it’s not a make-money-quick program. Instead, it takes lots of time, effort, and patience to achieve your goal with a long term success.

-Ask yourself why you want to try my alternative to make money online? What is the reason you need to make more money?
-Can you put up with the pain that it might take a few years to achieve your goal?
-Can you commit yourself and stick to your plan to make things done day by day?

If all is done, you could start pursuing a lifestyle with a laptop in the near future.

      Matt
