What is Affilorama?
-Summary of Affilorama-
Product Name: Affilorama
Founders: founded by Mark Ling and Simon Slade in 2006
Product Type: affiliate marketing training platform
Price: FREE to start, 30-Day Premium membership $1 then $67 per month
Rating: 50 / 100
Recommend: No
Affilorama was created by Mark Ling & Simon Slade in 2006, which used to be a good platform for people who want to pursue an online business through affiliate marketing at the early age of the internet. They provide free affiliate marketing training, software, and support to get you covered, but most of them seem outdated nowadays.
You can start as a free member, but there are instant upsells once you finish all the training video or written content in PDF format. Overall speaking, Affilorama is a legitimate platform for beginners to start their affiliate marketing journey online.

Inside Affilorama
Here are some training products from Affilorama, and they are designed for both beginners and experienced marketers.
Free Membership
As I mentioned in the previous paragraphs, you could join Affilorama for free. You only need to type in your email address and set up your account. Once all done, you could log in to the member area to see training videos, one member forum, and their blog. If you finish all content that comes with a FREE membership, you could consider purchasing the below products.
Pathway2Passive ($37)
Affilorama’s short guide of affiliate marketing for beginners and experienced affiliate marketers. You will learn how to create content, how to do keyword researches, or how to attract the right customers.
Side note: If you join as a free member, you could purchase Pathway2Passive at $19 discounted price during the first three days.
AffiloTools (starts from $17/month)
In the member area, you are able to see the stats of your website where you find the free version of AffiloTools. It’s an online application that Affilorama provides you to manage your revenue generation, website analytics, SEO, PPC, and social campaigns.
For the paid version, paid plans start at $17, $47, or $97 per month. Depending on the quantities of your websites, the prices vary. You will get the backlinks reports, ranking checker, social monitoring, and link finder!
AffiloJetpack($997 one-time payment)
Affilorama mentions that AffiloJetpack is a hugely powerful system that builds a money-making machine for you. It delivers a pre-made WordPress website with some content, one-year email newsletters(90 emails), website hosting, and premium WordPress Affilotheme.
Side note: You could get the discounted price at $747, but this is not something I will purchase myself & you definitely shouldn’t buy it.
Ugly Truth About Affilorama
TOP#1 Outdated Traning Content
Since 2006, the internet changes a lot, but the content inside Affilorama doesn’t update with time. For example, in the free membership, you will read about how to create a website and find out that Mark still recommends building your website by Dreamweaver, KompoZer, or Microsoft Expression Web. Those haven’t been updated since 2009 or 2012 respectively.
But, in Pathway2Passive, Mark finally mentions that we could build a website through WordPress, which is more progressive than what is taught in free membership.
TOP#2 Upsells(Red Flag!)
I hate upsells, and I think the majority hate it too. Before signing up for any programs, I do hope the founders/creators could mention all the other costs or services that we need to purchase once. Instead of upsells after upsells.
Once you join for free, you will face various upsells and lots of promotional emails that convince you to take out credit cards for the other Affilorama products.
TOP#3 Low Member Activity
Another drawback I discovered from Affilorama is the low member activity. Compared to other affiliate marketing training platforms, this only shows a bad sign.
A membership site is where members could get support from the founders or other experienced members, but their forum seems end-of-game while I expect more mutual communications between members.
What I Liked About Affilorama
TOP#1 Free Membership
There is nothing to compare with a FREE trial for any online programs that you are interested in, so if you don’t like it, there is nothing to lose in the end, right?
Although I think the content that comes with FREE membership might be outdated, it’s still worth a read to understand the basic concept of affiliate marketing.
TOP#2 60-day Money Back Guarantee
We all have the experience that we don’t like the real products received than our expectations when we place an order. It’s nice to see that Affilorama provides a 60-day money-back guarantee.
If you are not 100% satisfied with Affilorama’s products, you could simply email them within 60 days of purchase and they will refund your money without any questions asked.
TOP#3 Their Blog
I do find Affilorama’s blog is a great place to get yourself educated, and it’s possible that you don’t even need to spend anything to learn affiliate marketing.
For example, this one educates affiliate marketing beginners to start their online business in 7 steps which I found very comprehensive and easy to follow. It’s written in Feb 2020 which seems so much newer than the outdated training content. It also means that you could follow this step-by-step article to build your website through affiliate marketing.
And, Mark Ling did also write an article to teach people how to write like a 6-figure copywriter. I think he does have some know-how about writing and all of them still work today. So, I would recommend that you check Affilorama’s blog to get the first bite of affiliate marketing then consider joining as a free member. Deal?
Is Affilorama A Scam?
No, Affilorama is not a scam although I do have three things I loathe from them. Before you join Affilorama, I do hope you think twice and make every penny well spent. I prefer to build a website with quality content and share it with my readers, and this is also the way I find the perfect program for myself.
It might take longer to see positive results, but the time and effort you put into your online business will eventually worth it. If this sounds nice and decent to you, feel free to check my favorite platform I am using at the moment. You will also find it interesting, educational, and inspiring as I do.

I’ve heard of Affilorama in the past, but I have never tried the platform simply because I wasn’t interested in affiliate marketing at the time that I saw it. I guess I’m happy that I didn’t all that time ago after reading this review.
I got into affiliate marketing through Wealthy Affiliate, and I can say that I much prefer WA without even needing to try something like Affilorama.
Thank you for sharing!

Hi Joseph,
Yes, glad that you weren’t not interested in affiliate marketing while you met Affilorama. It’s not worth your time and money on its platform with the outdated content, and Wealthy Affiliate(WA) is indeed a better idea to go for with the powerful tools & features inside the premium memberships. By the way, I love to connect with other WA members on my website.
Cheers,
Matt
I remember checking out Affilorama a few years back and something didn’t gel with me then.
Hidden upsells, peeve me right off. They seem to think that because you are in that you will be going all-in. I guess in some cases that’s exactly what happens with some people.
What I do not like with this company is that I keep receiving emails even though I have un-subscribed on several occasions.
Thanks for sharing
Hi Mick,
Thanks for the feedback. Glad that you don’t join this platform and think twice for your decision. It seems like you are interested in affiliate marketing, so maybe try my alternative this time for a better one.
Cheers,
Matt
