What is Tupperware?
-Summary of Tupperware-
Product Name: Tupperware
Founders: founded by Earl Tupper in 1948
Product Type: kitchenware MLM(Multi-level marketing)
Price: no registration fee + $119 Deluxe Demo Kit
Recommend: No
Earl Tupper founded Tupperware in 1948. He was a chemist, and he created a bell-shaped container that was lightweight and non-breakable. At first, the business didn’t go well in stores since the products were so innovative that people needed demonstrations to know how good they were.
After 74-year business operations around the globe, Tupperware now refers to a plastic or glass storage container with snap-close lids. In 2018, Tupperware’s sales revenue was $2 billion, with more than 2.9 million members on this planet.

What’s Inside Tupperware?
Besides plastic containers, Tupperware developed many items that you need in the kitchen. I won’t go through every item since they have so many products. I would only list out the products I find interesting, or I currently need for my kitchen.
Product Lines
Tupperware products fall into the below categories:
- Kitchen Tools & Accessories: Food slicer, can opener, blender, mincer, etc.
- Cookware & Bakeware: Rice maker, pasta maker, microwave breakfast maker set, all kinds of pans, etc.
- Serveware: Chip ’n Dip set, rice bowl, cold brew carafe, insulated tumbler with Eco straw, etc.
- Food Storage: All kinds of containers you need and you will feel the kitchen organization is easier than ever.
- Kids & Toys: Disney finding Dory lunch set, Justice League snack set, Frozen II water bottle set, etc.

Does Tupperware Product Work?
Yes, Tupperware products are high-quality. I used a container from Tupperware for two years, and it still maintains the same as it first came to my kitchen.
They are more durable than other brands you find in the supermarket.
How To Make Money With Tupperware?
There are two ways to make money with MLMs, and Tupperware is no exception.
- Sell Tupperware products to make retail commissions
- Recruit people under you to hit group sales for extra bonuses and incentives.
Let’s know how to get started with Tupperware!
Getting Started
You must sign up with Tupperware, and no registration fee is needed. And then, you can purchase any of the below starter kits to promote the business.
- Deluxe Demo Kit $119 ($425 worth of products): You will get a collection of top-selling, eco-friendly products, catalogs, brochures, and order forms.
- Virtual Kit $15: digital tools to promote Tupperware($6 for the first three months, then $15 per month)

Besides the starter kits and the monthly website maintenance fee, Tupperware requires at least $250 in Tupperware for each 4-month period. It’s around $62.5 per month. Now, we can calculate the total cost of being an active Tupperware for one year.
- Starter Kits $119
- Monthly Website Subscription Fee $6*3 months + $15*9 months=$153
- The Monthly Minimum Sales To Stay Active $62.5*12=$750
The best case is that you spend $1,022. Other costs are not included, such as additional training, travel, gas, food, or miscellaneous expenses, so the total cost must be higher than my calculation here.
Tupperware Compensation Plan
This is the most critical part of this article because you came to my website to know “Can you make money selling Tupperware?” right? I have made them easier for you today.
-Consultant Level-
Retail Commissions: 25% of all retail sales you made at your home parties. For example, you sell a $100 value of products, Tupperware will only charge you $75, and the balance of $25 is your earning.
Volume Bonus: When your sales exceed $1,500, you can get a commission of 5% as a bonus. Another 10% is given to the consultant who exceeds the sales volume of $4,000.
-Manager Level-
Unit Sales Profit Plus Bonus: The commissions range from 2% to 4% for Managers Level, while the range of commissions for the level of Director is 6% to 8%. This commission is calculated by commissionable volume, which is 75%!
For example, if you make $4,000 sales, the commission volume is $3,000. Your profit plus bonus is $3,000*2%=$60.
Vanguard Bonus: All managers can get this bonus until they reach the director level. This is based on the total commissionable volume of you & your team. For example, your team sales are $2,500, and you get an extra $50 bonus.
-Director Level-
Team Sales Profit Plus Bonus: This is where you start earning team sales bonuses. You could earn this commission on everyone in your downline until you reach the next director level.
- $10,000-$14,999 Team commissionable volume: 6% bonus
- $15,000-$19,999 Team commissionable volume: 7% bonus
- $20,000+ Team commissionable volume: 8% bonus

Tupperware Home/Virtual Parties
Tupperware’s products are so innovative that you must host home or virtual parties to let anyone know how good they are.
You can ask your friends, colleagues, family, or neighbors to come over to have a lovely afternoon while you demonstrate the products.
How Much Do You Must Sell To Stay Active?
To stay active and qualify for commissions, you must make $250 worth of product sales every four months.
This could be your purchase or the sales your customers make at your home parties.
If you cannot sell $250, you probably purchase the products to be eligible for commissions, making you become the most loyal customer of Tupperware.

What I Liked About Tupperware
TOP#1 The Longevity
Producing and selling high-quality products made Tupperware last seven decades.
When you think of kitchenware companies, do you see that Tupperware lasts this long?
When it comes to the business opportunities with MLMs, the companies that exist longer should be safer than new MLM start-ups. This is also to avoid any uncertainty about the payout issue.
TOP#2 Lifetime Warranty
Tupperware offered a limited lifetime warranty against defects in the material or craft under regular use.
So, if you find the products have quality issues such as chipping, cracking, breaking, or peeling, you can request a replacement.
If a replacement cannot be made due to unavailability, Tupperware will credit you toward your future purchases. Don’t worry!
TOP#3 BPA Free
BPA stands for bisphenol A. BPA is an industrial chemical that has been used to make certain plastics since the 1960s.
Some research has shown that BPA can seep into food or beverages from containers made with BPA, and it inevitably hurts our health.
Due to this concern, Tupperware has found other materials with improved performance characteristics to replace BPA for all items sold to the USA & CA since 2010.
Ugly Truth About Tupperware
TOP#1 Tupperware Income Disclosure
From Tupperware Canada Income Disclosure 2017, I saw some interesting numbers.
- 47.88% of inactive consultant made $26.39 in 2017.
- 49.04% of active consultant made $653.63 in 2017.
- Only 0.03% of director made decent money in 2017.

Ask yourself, can you accept that you only made $26.39-$653.63 in one year while you have to spend $1,022 to stay active with Tupperware? Meaning you end up losing money instead of making profits.
TOP#2 Home Parties
When your friends, colleagues, family, and neighbors come to your home parties, do you feel embarrassed demonstrating Tupperware products in front of them?
If not, I must say you are born to be a Tupperware consultant. Go for it!
If yes, I would recommend other ways to make money online. I will reveal my alternative in one minute. Read on!
TOP#3 Pricey = A Tough Sell
If you compare similar products on Amazon, it’s quite easy to know Tupperware is pricey.
Once you pay more for Tupperware products, the regretful feeling gets stronger if you find them missing.
Who Is Tupperware For?
Homemakers. Tupperware empowers females to have more options to make a good living by becoming one of their consultants.
I don’t say that every member earns enough to support their lives since this is not true. But, at least you could work your butt off to make something happen.
If you turn yourself into a recruiting machine and a full-time sales manager of Tupperware, you’ll soon make lots of commissions, bonuses, and incentives.
Can You Make Money Selling Tupperware?
Yes, the top 0.03% of Tupperware members made a decent income with the compensation plan and the commission structure.
Is Tupperware A Pyramid Scheme?
No, Tupperware has legitimate products that last longer than other brands. They provide a limited lifetime warranty, so they are definitely not a pyramid scheme.
A pyramid scheme relies on only recruitment instead of selling real products to your customers.
My Alternative Way to Make Money Online
My alternative way to make money online is through affiliate marketing instead of promoting Tupperware in person.
Imagine you sell Tupperware to your friends, family, or anyone you know. Don’t you feel embarrassed or blushed? They might avoid you ever since.
Doing affiliate marketing will save you from that:
- It’s free to start your affiliate marketing business.
- You don’t need to buy physical products and sell them face to face.
- There is no monthly minimum sales quota in affiliate marketing.
- You don’t recruit people to become your downlines to build a team.
- You are not restricted to promoting one product. You can promote anything you like!
- Work on your schedules & you are your OWN BOSS!
You only need to start a blog with quality content. So every time people land on your site to read your products reviews or other articles, they will find insight and value.
If they like it, they may purchase the products or services via your links. Here come your earning potentials.

The platform I am using currently is Wealthy Affiliate. You will find all the proven-to-work training courses, every Friday night LIVE training courses, one keyword research tool called Jaaxy, 24/7 site support, and the most friendly community.

Hi Matt!
I love Tupperware and never knew you could make money by selling them! Sounds like something I need to start now.
I had a 20-year-old Tupperware bowl from my grandmother, and the company replaced it with a new one because it had cracks in it. So the lifetime guarantee is true.
Hi Catherine,
My mom used to put my lunch in Tupperware, so I know how good the food container is from Tupperware. Of course, you can make money with Tupperware. The problem for me is HOME PARTY! I just don’t like to demonstrate food containers or kitchen wares in the middle of a party.
I am glad you got a Tupperware container replacement. That’s very nice to know that Tupperware does commit what they say on the lifetime guarantee.
Thanks for your sharing, love it.
Matt

Hi Wenhua,
Thanks for stopping by and leaving your honest feedback. I think if MLMs have some legitimate like Tupperware, it is still possible to make money with the compensation plan. Otherwise, we won’t see that much living proof that people make a good living by them.
Wealthy Affiliate is indeed an excellent place to go for our online business, and I am glad you like it too. If you have spare time, you are more than welcome to check my full review HERE.
