You considered the business opportunity of Tupperware and googled it. Then, you found my post. (That’s great!) You are doing your homework well before joining any marketing programs without being scammed.

Secondly, I won’t be associated with Tupperware since I find there is only a top 1-2% member of Tupperware that could make decent money while others are just spending money than they earn from their sales.

Tupperware is founded by Earl Tupper in 1948. He was a chemist and he created a bell-shaped container that was lightweight, non-breakable. At first, the business didn’t go well in stores since the products were so innovative that people needed demonstrations to know how good they are.

After 72-year business operations around the globe, Tupperware now refers to a plastic or glass storage container with snap close lids. In 2018, Tupperware’s sales revenue were $2 billion with more than 2.9 million members on this planet.

Does Tupperware Product Work?

Yes, Tupperware has a high quality for all the products they sell. I ever used a container from Tupperware for two years, and it still maintains the same as it first came to my kitchen.

I believe they are stronger, lasting longer than other brands that we could find in K-mart, Amazon, or Walmart. Simultaneously, Tupperware products get lost as easily as other brands. You need to bring them back home after school & office, or you might get a lecture from Mom & your wife.

How Does Tupperware Work?

In short, you need to host a home party to have as much as people to participate and see your demonstration then feel they must get one from you directly.

At the same time, you need to recruit new members to become your downlines. You could get extra bonuses once they reach a certain sales.

The more people you recruit, the more sales you and your team make, the more earnings you could make! It’s the same as other MLM companies.

Getting Started

You need to sign up with Tupperware, there is no registration fee needed. They offer two options for starter kits, and you could choose the one you like the most and start earning at your home parties.

  1. Basic Business Kit $69 ($260 worth of products): You will get a canvas tote with a collection of top-selling, Eco-friendly products,10 catalogs, 20 brochures, 50 order forms.
  2. Business Kit $109 ($410 worth of products): You will get two canvas totes with a full selection of best-sellers, 10 catalogs, 20 brochures, 50 order forms, a branded planner, five-set of Host folders, Getting Started Guide and handy Confident Start flyer. Besides that, you can get personal support from your local business leader.

The Compensation Plan

This is the most important part of this article because you came to my website to know “Can you make money selling Tupperware?” Here we go!

-Representative Level-

Retail Commissions: 25% of all retail sales you made in your home parties. For example, you sell $100 value of products, Tupperware will only charge you $75 and the balance $25 is your earning.

Volume Bonus: When your sales exceed $1,500, you can get a commission of 5% as a bonus. Another 10% is given to the representative who exceeds the sales volume of $4,000.

-Manager Level-

Unit Sales Profit Plus Bonus: The commissions range from 2% to 4% for Managers Level, while the range of commissions for the level of Director is 6% to 8%. This commission is calculated by commissionable volume which is 75%!

For example, if you make a $4,000 sales, the commission volume is $3,000. Your profit plus bonus is $3,000*2%=$60.

Vanguard Bonus: All managers can get this bonus until they reach the director level. This is based on the total commissionable volume of you & your team. For example, your team sales are $2,500, you get an extra $50 bonus.

-Director Level-

Team Sales Profit Plus Bonus: This is where you stop earning unit sales profit plus bonus, but you start earning team sales bonuses. You could earn this commission on everyone in your downline and until you reach the next director level.

  • $10,000-$14,999 Team commissionable volume: 6% bonus
  • $15,000-$19,999 Team commissionable volume: 7% bonus
  • $20,000+ Team commissionable volume: 8% bonus

Tupperware Home Parties

Tupperware’s products are so innovative that you need to host a home party to let anyone knows how good it is. You could ask your friends, colleagues, family or neighbors to come over to have a nice afternoon while you demonstrate the products.

How Much Do You Must Sell To Stay Active?

In order to remain qualified and keep your business rolling, you must make $250 worth of product sales every four months. This could be your personal purchase or the sales your customers make in your home parties.

I think $250 is a number that every member could achieve, so I won’t say it’s very difficult to stay active with Tupperware.

What I Liked About Tupperware

TOP#1 A 72-year History

Producing and selling high-quality products make Tupperware last 72 years. When you think of kitchenware, can you imagine that one of the companies could last that long?

When it comes to the business opportunity of any MLMs, the companies that exist longer should be safer than new MLM start-ups. This is also to avoid any uncertainty for the payout issue.

TOP#2 Lifetime Warranty

Tupperware offers a limited lifetime warranty against defects in the material or workmanship under normal or household non-commercial use and cared for in accordance with instructions.

So, if you find the products have quality issues such as chipping, cracking, breaking or peeling, you can request a replacement. If due to unavailability, a replacement cannot be made, Tupperware will credit toward your future purchases. Don’t worry.

TOP#3 BPA Free

BPA stands for bisphenol A. BPA is an industrial chemical that has been used to make certain plastics since the 1960s. Some research has shown that BPA can seep into food or beverages from containers that are made with BPA, and it inevitably hurts our health if we keep using containers with BPA.

Due to this concern, Tupperware has found other materials with improved performance characteristics to replace BPA for all items sold to the USA & CA since 2010.

Ugly Truth About Tupperware

TOP#1 Not Transparent

I cannot find any official income disclosure from Tupperware’s website. When people first try MLM, the income disclosure is the exact proof of our potential earning.

If there is no income disclosure from any MLM companies, people tend to combine its business opportunity with the hidden truth that most members failed. A lower average annual income disclosure of active consultants is much better than the hidden untold mystery.

TOP#2 Home Parties

When your friends, colleagues, family, and neighbors come to your home parties, do you feel peace in mind if you demonstrate Tupperware products in the middle of the parties?

If no, I must say you are born to be a representative of Tupperware. Go for it! If not, I would recommend other ways to make money online. I will reveal my alternative right away.

TOP#3 Pricey = A Tough Sell

I used to forget where I put all these storage containers after I take them out for a picnic, office, or school. Now, it costs more than other brands, and it’s hard not to get a lecture when you forget again.

If you compare with similar products on Amazon, it’s quite easy to know Tupperware is pricey. Once you pay more for Tupperware products, the regretful feeling gets stronger if you find them missing.

Who Is Tupperware For?

Of course, all housewives. Tupperware empowers female to have more options to make a good living by becoming one of the members.

I don’t say that every member earns enough to support their lives since it’s not the truth. But, at least, you could try to work your butt off to make something happen.

If you happen to be strong and sharp in presentation skill, recruitment, planning, you must give it a try. It’s possible to achieve the same as the woman in the above YouTube video.

Can You Make Money Selling Tupperware?

Yes, the top 1-2% of Tupperware members could make a good living by the system, and I believe they achieve this by a hard-working attitude, persistence, and patience.

According to Tupperware Canada’s data, the average annual income per active consultant is $485. Meaning they only earn $40 per month. Is it enough to cover your bills?

The rest 48% of the consultant is considered “inactive” because they do not make $250 purchase every 4 months and they only make $21 per year. You should have a better understanding of Tupperware’s business opportunity now.

Income disclosure from Tupperware Canada

Is Tupperware A Pyramid Scheme?

No, Tupperware has legitimate products that last longer than other brands and they provide a limited lifetime warranty, so they are definitely not a pyramid scheme. Pyramid scheme relies on only recruitment instead of selling real products to your customers.

My Alternative Way to Make Money Online

My alternative way to make money online is through Affiliate Marketing instead of promoting Tupperware products in the home parties. Try to imagine you sell Tupperware products to your friends, family, or anyone you know, don’t you feel nervous and blushed? They might avoid you ever since.

Doing affiliate marketing will save you from that!

You don’t even need to buy any physical or digital products and sell to someone face to face. You also don’t need to convince people to join you as you downlines to build a team.

You only need to create a website or YouTube channel with quality content that makes people trust you then purchase them through your links.

The platform I am using currently is Wealthy Affiliate. The reasons for “Why Wealthy Affiliate?” are for all the training courses, every Friday night LIVE training courses, 24/7 sitesupport, and the most friendly community.

    • Hi Wenhua,

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your honest feedback. I think if MLMs have some legitimate like Tupperware, it is still possible to make money with the compensation plan. Otherwise, we won’t see that much living proof that people make a good living by them.

  3. Hi Matt!

I love Tupperware and never knew you could make money by selling them! Sounds like something I need to start now.

I had a 20-year-old Tupperware bowl from my grandmother, and the company replaced it with a new one because it had cracks in it. So the lifetime guarantee is true.

    • Hi Catherine,

My mom used to put my lunch in Tupperware, so I know how good the food container is from Tupperware. Of course, you can make money with Tupperware. The problem for me is HOME PARTY! I just don’t like to demonstrate food containers or kitchen wares in the middle of a party.

I am glad you got a Tupperware container replacement. That’s very nice to know that Tupperware does commit what they say on the lifetime guarantee.

Thanks for your sharing, love it.
